If you've decided to go the traditional route and roast your turkey for Thanksgiving, don´t forget to brine it. Brining is basically soaking the bird in a salt-water solution for 4 to 24 hours before roasting which аddѕ mоiѕturе to the meat and eliminates the risk of having a flavorless, bоnе-drу bird.
A 12 - 14 pound turkey will require around 1 gallon of water. Double the amount if your bird is bigger. Make sure you have a pot large enough to comfortably fit the bird and enough space in your refrigerator to store it during the process.
